Aviation - 3rd Grade Level | Endorsement of Passenger Flight
Endorsement of Passenger Flight
3rd Grade Lesson Plan

Updated: September 6, 2005

ission Inn owner Frank Miller and his family were very interested in airplanes.  They became friends with many of the army pilots from March Field.  The family loved to travel on airplanes, including on trips to South America and Europe.  There were special places in the Mission Inn for fliers, including one room called the “Pilots’ Roost.” Miller’s family decorated the room with photographs of airplanes.  Since their friends knew they liked airplanes, they sent to them objects related to flying.  Objects in the collections include a airplane propeller, posters advertising passenger flight, gloves worn by a pilot, and a bottle of oil from an airship.
