Artifact Descriptions
In December 1937, Dewitt and Allis Miller Hutchings and their children, Frank Miller Hutchings, Isabella Hutchings, and Helen Hutchings, left on a three week trip to Central and South America. This photograph was taken in Lima, Peru. Mr. and Mrs. Hutchings are the 2nd and 3rd people from the left. The five others in the photograph are unidentified. The airplane is a Boeing DC-2 or DC-3 owned by the PANAGRA Airways. PANAGRA was Pan American Grace Airways.

he Millers-Hutchings family were passionate "boosters" of commercial flight. The result was an extensive and eclectic military and civilian aviation collection, filled with travel brochures, souvenirs, insignias, photographs, and a variety of other materials. The family took full advantage of commercial flight themselves, and shared many memories of plane trips to South America, Europe, Asia, and points beyond.
